I presented all my paperwork for my Montana license 10 days ago (2nd shot since we’d driven to Cut Bank a couple days before to try) and the examiner (who does her job a little too gleefully) told me I’d have to take all the Montana tests because I didn’t have the hard copy of my Minnesota license. (Thank you Minnesota for refusing to send licenses out of state and for being so bleeping slow in sending ID documents.) So… I took the written test and failed it. (I’m sorry — there were no laws about why you shouldn’t hit cattle in the road in Minnesota or Ohio where I previously had passed tests.) And lo, there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth and whining on my part because after having my license for a month, I suddenly had no license again. When you live 25 miles in between two towns, this is a really sucky thing.<\/p>\n
We drove to Cut Bank today and after studying last night, I took the written test and passed. I then took the road test and passed by the skin of my teeth. (As I said, the examiner does her job a little too gleefully and none of the testers in Minnesota or Ohio were that detail-oriented.) So… I FINALLY HAVE A REAL BONAFIDE DRIVER’S LICENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<\/p>\n
On the way home, we stopped by the post office to get the mail and there was a letter from the DPS in Minnesota. Apparently, they rejected my license application because I had a MN state ID card (which I found this morning while cleaning my purse) and you can’t have both the card and the license. So… I wouldn’t have had the MN license to begin with and I’m probably just going to send my ID card to St. Paul and tell them to use it for target practice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
