In true ::Meditatio:: style, here&#8217;s my rundown of it all.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Good<\/strong><br \/>\n[+] Seeing parts of my family again that I haven&#8217;t seen in more than 15 years.<br \/>\n[+] Seeing some old neighbors again, especially since I&#8217;m essentially an adopted daughter.  \ud83d\ude42<br \/>\n[+] Meals with 12-20 family members.<br \/>\n[+] Banana coconut frappucinos every day.<br \/>\n[+] <a href=\"http:\/\/www.starbucks.com\">$tarbucks<\/a> and breakfast in bed on Sunday.  (Thanks Mommy!)<br \/>\n[+] Playing in the surf in Lincoln City.<br \/>\n[+] Bush Park in Salem (where my former neighbors retired to and where they are uber-involved in things).<br \/>\n[+] The C terminal at Sea-Tac.<br \/>\n[+] Playing in Ritner Creek with two very adorable little boys.<br \/>\n[+] &#8220;Desire of the Everlasting Hills&#8221; by Thomas Cahill.  (Re-reading it for the first time in 6 years.)<br \/>\n[+] Family picture slideshows.<br \/>\n[+] Climbing over gates and through blackberry bushes to get to the house where my grandfather grew up.<br \/>\n[+] My brother&#8217;s reading of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skygod.com\/quotes\/highflight.html\">High Flight<\/a>.<br \/>\n[+] Making it through &#8220;Let All Things Now Living&#8221; at the memorial service without crying.<br \/>\n[+] Blackberry green tea frappucinos from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.starbucks.com\">$tarbucks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Bad<\/strong><br \/>\n[+] Being allergic to the entire state of Oregon.<br \/>\n[+] Wicked PMS.<br \/>\n[+] Grass pollen.<br \/>\n[+] Stupid meth makers who have forced states to require the signing over of one&#8217;s life to get a flipping box of Claritin.<br \/>\n[+] Prickliness of blackberry bushes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Emotional<\/strong><br \/>\n[+] Saturday morning.<br \/>\n[+] Speaking about my grandfather and the letter I was putting in the tacklebox.\u00c2? (My grandfather&#8217;s ashes were buried in his tackle box. Believe me, it was very fitting.)<br \/>\n[+] Listening to various family members speak on Saturday morning, especially my cousin&#8217;s kids.<br \/>\n[+] Sitting with crying family members.<br \/>\n[+] Watching planes take off and land at Sea-Tac this morning. (My grandfather was a pilot for the U.S. Navy and then for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.united.com\">United Airlines<\/a> for 30+ years.)<br \/>\n[+] The poem my cousin Sari wrote for the funeral service. (She couldn&#8217;t read it so it was placed in the tackle box.)<br \/>\n[+] Everyone taking a shovel full of dirt and placing it on the box.<br \/>\n[+] Saying good-bye to everyone yesterday.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"'Ich liebe dich Opa' is 'I love you Grandpa' in German\" title=\"'Ich liebe dich Opa' is 'I love you Grandpa' in German\" src=\"http:\/\/www.grace-filled.net\/ichliebedich.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OK&#8230; just got back from Oregon.
