It’s probably good that I’m taking part in the Simple Woman’s Daybook<\/a> because it’s the only way I’ve had posting time lately!<\/p>\n

[+] I finished NaNoWriMo<\/a> though I didn’t hit 50,000 words. This was kind of intentional on my part — I probably could have written another 10,000 words but I was so exhausted from life that I decided to just end my novel at its natural point: 40,632 words. That’s nothing to be ashamed of — it’s actually A LOT. I’m glad that I participated though I think part of the reason I didn’t hit the magic number was that I wasn’t writing my novel as a way to vent my anger this year. I also have a 19 month old with developmental delays, a husband who is gone 4-5 days a week, and an apartment to keep clean so I’m a bit short on writing time.<\/p>\n

[+] While I can’t say that I’m happy with the election returns on November 2nd, I am happy that my state was not sold on eBay or had the senatorial election bought with the blood of HP workers. (Why yes, I am referring to Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina.) Instead, I get the governor who was in the governor’s mansion in the year of my birth and who is probably the best person to lead California right now.<\/p>\n

[+] Jon is still an interim up north and I still feel like life is on hold though I’m job-hunting like mad. There are some call processes going on but after going through 6 of them to the point of being flown out for an interview only to be rejected last year, I’m not saying anything about where or what is happening until the call is in hand and the compensation package has been worked out. One thing that is a factor is whether or not we can get therapy for Daniel — only one place (possibly two) would offer us that right now.<\/p>\n

[+] We had the mutant death flu going around the family last month. Jon got it first, Daniel then got hit with a fever and chills, and I ended up with a UTI\/sinus combination that required the “kill ’em all” antibiotics to treat. Ick.<\/p>\n

[+] I spent probably 1\/3 to 1\/2 of my month up in northern California, either with my family or at Jon’s parish. I’m getting to know CA-99 really well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
