It&#8217;s on books this week!<\/p>\n<p><b>1. What were your favorite childhood stories?<\/b><br \/>\nProbably the Babysitters&#8217; Club books and the Dr. Suess ones.  I was also a huge Richard Scarry fan.<\/p>\n<p><b>2. What books from your childhood would you like to share with [your] children?<\/b><br \/>\n<u>The Cat in the Hat<\/u>, <u>Scrambled Eggs Super<\/u>, <u>If I Ran the Zoo<\/u>, <u>Anne of Green Gables<\/u>, <u>Caddie Woodlawn<\/u>, <u>Black Beauty<\/u>, <u>Otto and the Silver Hand<\/u><\/p>\n<p><b>3. Have you re-read any of those childhood stories and been surprised by anything?<\/b><br \/>\nI am continually amazed at how much of <u>The Cat in the Hat<\/u> that I still have memorized.  I think my mom still has the whole thing memorized &#8212; she had to read it so many times to my brother and I!<\/p>\n<p><b>4. How old were you when you first learned to read?<\/b><br \/>\nI taught myself when I was 3.  My 1st grade reading group was working through <u>Alice&#8217;s Adventures in Wonderland<\/u> (the REAL book) by the end of the year because we&#8217;d read everything our school had.<\/p>\n<p><b>5. Do you remember the first &#8216;grown-up&#8217; book you read?
