This is one of my favorites from Good Shepherd Sunday which is usually around the last Sunday in April unless Easter is late. It doesn’t contain the A-word (Alleluia) so it’s also possible to do during Lent or whenever the John 10 reading comes up for the Gospel. <\/p>\n

The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want.
\nhe makes me down to lie
\nin pastures green; he leadeth me
\nthe quiet waters by.<\/p>\n

My soul he doth restore again;
\nand me to walk doth make
\nwithin the paths of righteousness,
\neven for his own Name’s sake.<\/p>\n

Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale,
\nyet will I fear no ill;
\nfor thou art with me; and thy rod
\nand staff my comfort still.<\/p>\n

My table thou hast furnished
\nin presence of my foes;
\nmy head thou dost with oil anoint,
\nand my cup overflows.<\/p>\n

Goodness and mercy all my life
\nshall surely follow me;
\nand in God’s house forevermore
\nmy dwelling place shall be.

The normal tune is apparently “Crimond” but I learned it to the tune of “Brother James Air” so I had to scour YouTube<\/a> to find a video that didn’t completely screw it up.<\/p>\n
