I&#8217;m unfortunately not making it to church because of Daniel so doing this list is a chance to scratch my itch for traditional hymns.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 130%;\"><a name=\"qt1\"><\/a><strong><a href=\"#qt1\" style=\"color: black; text-decoration: none;\">&#8212; 1 &#8212;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Soul, Adorn Yourself with Gladness<\/strong>  This is a version of the hymn &#8220;Deck Thyself My Soul With Gladness&#8221; that I love.  It&#8217;s one of my favorite hymn tunes and one that I only get to sing once or twice a year because it&#8217;s a Communion hymn and one that our organist doesn&#8217;t like to play. It tells the story of Christ coming to die for us. This is one of the songs we sang.  The translation is &#8220;where there is charity and love, God himself is there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:center;margin-top:15px;margin-bottom:15px;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ubi Caritas Taiz\u00e9\" width=\"584\" height=\"438\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/X9e_QO1ATho?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 130%;\"><a name=\"qt4\"><\/a><strong><a href=\"#qt4\" style=\"color: black; text-decoration: none;\">&#8212; 4 &#8212;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>O Sacred Head Now Wounded<\/strong>  This is a Good Friday standard.  It&#8217;s a tune by Hans Hassler which was adapted into a chorale by J.S. Bach in the 18th century.  The words are by Bernard of Clairvaux and date from the 12th century.  This particular one is sung by Fernando Ortega who does everything beautifully.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:center;margin-top:15px;margin-bottom:15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1pXyJf_GGrI\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1pXyJf_GGrI<\/a><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 130%;\"><a name=\"qt5\"><\/a><strong><a href=\"#qt5\" style=\"color: black; text-decoration: none;\">&#8212; 5 &#8212;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>When I Survey the Wondrous Cross<\/strong>  One of my favorite Cross-centric hymns that is fitting for this occasion.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:center;margin-top:15px;margin-bottom:15px;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"When I Survey The Wondrous Cross - Fernando Ortega\" width=\"584\" height=\"438\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Tkx8WAycYAc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 130%;\"><a name=\"qt6\"><\/a><strong><a href=\"#qt6\" style=\"color: black; text-decoration: none;\">&#8212; 6 &#8212;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?<\/strong>  I had a really hard time finding a version of this on <a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\" title=\"YouTube\">YouTube<\/a> that wasn&#8217;t overly dramatized.
