About Jen

Jen isn't quite sure when she lost her mind, but it is probably documented here on Meditatio. She blogs because the world needs her snark at all hours of the night... and she probably can't sleep anyway.

Gone Home

One of my people just “went home” so…

Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant, Dolores. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive her into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.

She and I did butt heads while she was parish council president but… she really cared about the parish and she was going to make sure it survived! Despite any butting of heads that she and I had, she was the first person I called when I needed prayer because she was an AMAZING prayer warrior. My mom still asks about her because she kept all of us in prayer 3 years ago when my grandfather died. I think the reason Daniel did so well was that she kept him seriously in prayer. 🙂

Global Warming?

It’s in the 50’s here and windy with a possibility of rain. Why couldn’t it have been this nice when I was doing Blogathon 2009 a few weeks ago???? Thursday was a nice rainy day… which we usually get in autumn!!! I had to take some naps with Daniel that day — a sacrifice but worth it! 🙂

I’m trying to come up with a list for 101 in 1001 to do on here. Part of it is that when I think of things, I’m not online or not upstairs (where my laptop is). Jon is getting a laptop for his birthday and I’m looking at wireless routers. To my techies: what do you recommend?

I’m also SERIOUSLY enjoying the Wait Wait people making fun of Woodstock being 40 years ago.

Mouse Wars

I saw two cats sitting by the bathroom door this morning. Given that nobody was in there, I realized that it could only mean one thing: we had a mouse in there. I opened the door and saw the beast scurrying across the floor and slide into the crack where the wall has separated from the floor.

Well, crap!

I got some steel wool today and pulled it apart so Jon could stuff it into the crack. I’m hoping that it keeps the creatures out? Meanwhile, I guess a mouse got out and went into the master bedroom so the cats have been dispatched there to deal with it. I’m hoping they actually deal with it and don’t just play with it for the next 8 hours.

What I Got Done Today

I did some “geek-cleaning” as my m-i-l would say…

[+] Got my Blogathon site on hiatus. Comments are off and I’ll probably not be posting until next spring when I start prepping for the 2010 ‘thon.

[+] Took down the main page of Peacefulwaters.Org for updating. I need to revamp the domain and figure out what I want to do with it.

[+] Got stuff done on Farmtown and MyZoo. I’m stuck on level 13 on MyZoo and need visitors which is irritating me.

Prayers Needed

The call committee of [undisclosed location in Canada] votes today (August 6th). This is a congregation that is really open to discernment and the leadings of the Holy Spirit. For those who do, please pray that God’s will be done in terms of whether they call Jon or not. They are a seriously AMAZING group of people and we’d love it if they did call us but we want God’s will to be done in any case.
