About Jen

Jen isn't quite sure when she lost her mind, but it is probably documented here on Meditatio. She blogs because the world needs her snark at all hours of the night... and she probably can't sleep anyway.

Sinus Infections, Taebo, and Idiot Long Distance, Oh My!

Well… I did manage to make it into town for a doctor’s appointment yesterday and waited 45 minutes to be seen even though I was on time. The doctor was OK — I got my drugs and all; but he wasn’t super personable. He put me on Biaxin which isn’t giving me the stomach cramps though it’s leaving a yucky taste in my mouth.

Despite my infection, I managed 30 minutes of taebo last night. I’m trying to get back in the habit of working out almost every day, especially since I’ve been downing soda like water. (It keeps my stomach calm with antibiotics and Coke is kind of my comfort food.) I’ll probably work out during Confirmation tomorrow — not gonna happen today since I slept in and missed my workout opportunities. I’d go walking but it’s cold and miserable out. I’ll work out before watching “The Biggest Loser” finale. It’s only 30 minutes and I need to be committed to this.

As for long distance, MCI didn’t cancel my account which means Churches 1 and 2 in Minnesota just got some free long distance. I emailed MCI and screamed at them. Hopefully they resolve this?

Thanksgiving: The Good, The Bad, and The Furry

OK… my Thanksgiving:

The Good
-singing “Earth and All Stars” for worship
-the FOOD!!!!!
-being with family
-being able to get spumoni
-mushroom risotto for lunch followed by more spumoni

The Bad
-having wicked nausea/cramps during worship on Wednesday night
-the [insert nasty word] who drove for 40 miles behind me tonight with his bleeping brights on
-the headache from person mentioned above
-almost hitting Bambi last night
-the number of people at Wal-Mart on Thanksgiving night!!!!! (this wasn’t even for Black Friday)

The Furry
-Fred and Loogy (my aunt and uncle’s cats)
-the fleece I got at Wal-Mart to make into blankies for Project Linus in honor of my parents for Christmas

Over I-15 and Through the Buttes to My Aunt and Uncle’s House I Go

For the first time in 6 years, I will be spending Thanksgiving with part of MY family. (It’s the first time in 5 years that we’ve spent it with either of our families.) After worship (which is in like 30 minutes), we’ll pack and head south to Great Falls. My aunt and I will cook. Jon will replace the taillights on the Volvo. (He who smashes them out fixes them. :P)

Tomorrow I will go torture the nice people at Joann Fabric on Black Friday and get the fleece for two Project Linus blankies. (I already have one crocheted.)

So… Happy Thanksgiving to all and hopefully all y’all who are travelling get to wherever you are going safely.
