About Jen

Jen isn't quite sure when she lost her mind, but it is probably documented here on Meditatio. She blogs because the world needs her snark at all hours of the night... and she probably can't sleep anyway.

Update

Life here has been kind of crazy this week. We had to get the car titled and new license plates, try and get driver’s licenses (we failed because we’re in a unique situation in terms of residence), get DSL installed, and we thankfully were able to get satellite TV today.

I’ve been reading murder mysteries, trying to unpack the kitchen, working on a blanket for my brother’s girlfriend (my mom just commissioned one from me so I need to finish Jeanette’s), and snuggling with 4 very affectionate cats. I swear that my beasts are thinking “maybe if we’re nice to her, she won’t stuff us in cages and take us to a strange house again”.

We also went to Glacier National Park this week. Some parishioners were needing to get some stuff from their cabin and they invited us along. It was bee-you-tee-full!!!!!!! (I’ve been told I was in the boring part of the park and still it was wonderful.) I should probably make a list of things I have to do in Montana before I move (which I should have done for Minnesota) and I know I can at least cross that one off!

Life These Days

For those who are wondering what’s up, here’s the last week and a half in a nutshell.

The move got pulled off. I admit that I really had doubts, but I was out of Madison by noon on Tuesday. The U-Haul place ended up giving us a bigger truck than we’d reserved so we had PLENTY of space for our stuff. Other than my boys using their carriers as litterboxes, Jon running out of gas in rural Montana, and me getting pulled over by the Montana State Patrol, it wasn’t too bad. (I accidentally cut someone off when they sped up to keep me from passing them and I had the choice of cutting them off or running head-on into a semi. The officers sided with me on that one and I just got a verbal warning.)

The churches are good, the parsonage is awesome, and the area is incredibly beautiful. We got Internet hooked up on Monday and we’ve been trying to get stuff done ever since. I picked up an application from Shelby Public Schools to substitute teach (they claim that they’re not hiring but everyone else I talk to is telling me otherwise). I still have unpacking to do: dishes mostly but also boxes of other stuff. I hate unpacking and I need Jon’s help with much of what’s left, so hopefully he’ll be around tomorrow to help me lug the big stuff upstairs and help me stow the smaller stuff.

Going Public

You may notice that ::Meditatio:: is now public. I’ll keep it public for the time being, but things *WILL* be passworded if someone decides to abuse this space and use it to hurt me. There are certain entries that I’ve gone back and passworded. Unless I know you well, you will NOT get the password for them.
