About Jen

Jen isn't quite sure when she lost her mind, but it is probably documented here on Meditatio. She blogs because the world needs her snark at all hours of the night... and she probably can't sleep anyway.

Back: OK Ankle: Not OK

Well… the back isn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Perhaps it’s from the massive doses of Aleve I’ve been taking all day.

My ankle (which I landed on in a seated position) is likely sprained. I walked 1.5 miles on a sprained ankle yesterday. I should be getting some weight loss points for that. Unfortunately… I’m not.

The first chance I’ll have at seeing someone medically trained: technically tomorrow (parish nurse) but… for x-rays and such, I have to wait until Monday. Hope the person I want to see is free.

Until then, I will be whiny and crabby. Adjust your opinions of me accordingly.

Owwwwwwwwwwww!

Note to self: do not go down stairs at light speed. Doing so will result in you slipping and going down them on your back.

I’m going to be in agony tomorrow…

Only In Our House…

Jon: Jen, I’ve got this strange urge to celebrate Communion according to the Book of Common Prayer, Canada 1962. However, there’s the rule against celebrating Communion yourself. Wanna play Anglican?
Jen: Ummm… let me think about that for a few days.

Surprises and Spring Cleaning

I now understand why spring cleaning is so popular — you have to have something to do in early March when the weather shifts from spring (Saturday and Sunday) to fall/winter (the last few days).

I did the following today:
+ cleaned the microwave
+ cleaned out the trash
+ tossed out our massive plastic bag collection
+ cleaned the dish drainer
+ did two dishwasher loads
+ cleaned the counters
+ baked two loaves of apple bread
(Thank you Flylady!)

Before pre-marital counselling, I need to get the clothes from downstairs to upstairs with Jon’s help.

Surprises
One of my parishioners (who is a pastor’s mommy — her middle son is an ELCA pastor serving abroad) stopped by with a card for us. Inside the card was $100 and a note saying “Use this for groceries or taxes”. I’m thinking income taxes and subsidizing $20 of a new digital mouse? There will be much thank-you card writing!

Sunday Morning

Theresa, you rock my world. Thank you so much for the drive, the cappucino, being such a role model of how to be a godly woman/mom/careerwoman, giving me someone I can talk to about life right now, and for praying for Jon and I. You are a true servant and encourager and an asset to the church.

Mixed Blessings

Bad News: My optical mouse died and I’m having to use my touchpad.

Good News: I’m listening to “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me!” on my computer. (It didn’t work last week.

Bad News: I had trippy dreams last night that made me wake up upset this morning. (I’d explain but that would be revealing stuff from my protected entries.)

Good News: One of my parishioners has offered to give me all her women’s magazines when she’s done with them. 🙂

Good News: I’m getting lots of crocheting done these days. I finished up stripe #4 on the tsunami afghan and I’m into stripe #5. I also am getting a square a day crocheted for my Lenten discipline.
