About Jen

Jen isn't quite sure when she lost her mind, but it is probably documented here on Meditatio. She blogs because the world needs her snark at all hours of the night... and she probably can't sleep anyway.

Why I Haven’t Been Blogging On The Election

My choice for president:

(Anyone surprised?)

Why I Haven’t Blogged About This Much
1.) Do I really need to express my feelings on Bush being re-elected?
2.) I’m sickened by the hateful things being said on both sides. It’s gone from concern about the country to “who can smear their opponent the most?” (So far the biggest smearer has been Bush. He has Karl Rove, the only guy who can make a triple amputee who served in Vietnam seem unpatriotic, to thank. The bandaids with purple hearts were just dumb. At least Kerry served his country instead of partying and skipping out on his guard duty.)
3.) I’ve had other things on my mind.
4.) I live in a decent state which is thankfully controlled by a decent party who tempers the idiocy of our governor. Now that I’m not surrounded by Bush lovers, my need to be rabidly anti-Bush has diminished.
5.) I’ve reached a new level of apathy.
6.) My political activities have been severely restricted to attempting not to vandalize Bush signs on lawns. (People know who I am around here. It sucks not to have anonymity when I need it.)

Part of The Thoughts In My Chaotic Mind

Arms nailed down,
Are you tellin me something?
Eyes turned out,
Are you looking for someone?

This is the one thing,
The one thing that I know.

Blood-stained brow,
Are you dying for nothing?
Flesh and blood,
Is it so elemental?

This is the one thing,
The one thing that I know.
This is the one thing,
The one thing that I know.

Blood-stained brow,
He wasn’t broken for nothing.
Arms nailed down,
He didn’t die for nothing.

This is the one thing,
The one thing that I know.
This is the one thing,
The one thing that I know.

This is the one thing,
The one thing that I know.
This is the one thing,
The one thing that I know.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, “FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.” But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Argh

I was loving up my flufferpie today and noticed that he had a huge bump on his lip that was about the size of my fingertip. I called the vet and got him in to see Rachel (our vet) who took some blood from the bump and scheduled him for surgery on Monday to get it removed. He’s doing OK otherwise and was a very good cat when I had to give him his antibiotics (to keep it from getting infected).

Pray that the surgery takes care of the growth and that it isn’t something cancerous…
