Nobody Is Innocent Here

I usually watch Countdown with Keith Olbermann to see what’s on Oddball and also who he has deemed the Worst Person in the World.Â? (It’s also a good way of keeping tabs on the stupidity that is Bill O’Reilly.)Â? Well… what I saw in the first 3 minutes of Countdown made me ashamed to be an American.

You see… the Idiot in the White House’s response to Lebanon calling for a ceasefire was to tell Israel to keep the civilian casualties to a minimum.Â? This is of course followed by the Israeli ambassador to the U.N. spitting back the whole “Axis of Evil” spiel which included pretty much all of the other countries in the Middle East.

Could someone please explain to me why the life of a Lebanese child is worth so much less than the life of an Israeli child?Â? Oh yeah… if the airports in Israel were taken out like the Israelis took out the Beirut airport, people would be up in arms all over the flipping world and the US would decimate whoever touched their airports.Â? So… explain to me why the infrastructure of Lebanon is worth so much less than the infrastructure of Israel?

Hezbollah should not have kidnapped the Israeli troops but… do you think that decimating the country of Lebanon is going to do anything other than infuriate them more so that more crap happens to Israeli troops?

Why the haitch-eee-double-hockey-sticks are we supporting a country with such a wretched human rights record?Â? Do we really think Jesus is going to come back and pat us on the backs for killing everyone off in the Middle East except for the state of Israel?

I am so ashamed of the idiot who claims to lead this country and of those people in this country who think what Israel is doing is right.

Ouchie!

Let it be said that liquid nitrogen is evil stuff when sprayed on skin for the purpose of removing moles and beauty marks that may or may not be cancerous.Â? I was seriously having to suppress the urge to swear today when my doc was spraying it on my chest and back!

And of course, I get to go back for more punishment next week.Â? Oh freaking joy…

My First Pouncing Experience

I just killed my first mouse.Â? I’m having serious karmic issues with this.

You see… my cats were refusing to listen to my shrieks of “KILL IT KILL IT KILL IT!!!!!!!!” and I had to take matters into my own hands.Â? (It distresses me muchly when they play with their food.)Â? I got a yogurt container, trapped the varmint under it, put the top on, took it outside, and stomped on it.Â? When I looked inside, the creature was breathing heavily.Â? I think it probably hemmorhaged to death.

I am feeling extreme guilt over the taking of another creature’s life, even if said creature would have spread bubonic plague or Hanta virus throughout my house.Â? I think this is why I couldn’t hunt and why I should really be a vegetarian…

You Know You Live in Rural Montana When…

the entire town gathers to watch/shoot off fireworks and you fit on someone’s deck.Â? :)Â? (OK… we had maybe 8-10 people overflowing into lawnchairs on the ground too.)

It was definitely fun despite some of the fireworks not getting enough height before exploding.Â? We ended up running for cover and having to stomp out fires a few times.Â? Afterwards, we had dessert: 4 kinds of ice cream (we were joking that someone beat up the Schwan’s man and stole his cache), spice cake, cookies, and jello (we were all Lutherans after all).

Independence Day

Happy Independence Day to all my Yankee readers.

I was at a Farmer’s Union BBQ for lunch and I’ll go shoot off fireworks with neighbors when the sun sets.Â? (Yes, we can have fireworks.Â? This is Montana.Â? The only thing not allowed are cruise missiles.)

It’s been a restful day which is good — I accidentally worked 30 mins of overtime yesterday, so I’ll have to take a long lunch tomorrow.Â? (I’m not supposed to go over my allotted hours but hopefully I’m not going to be in too much trouble for it.)Â? At least my 30 minutes of overtime accomplished my part in a project that we’ve been working on at the clinic…

That’s pretty much all that’s going on other than being finished (finally!) with translations for the Blogathon.
