Grow Up Y’All!

To the esteemed people in the House of Representatives:

GROW UP!!!!!! Your “fiery debate” was broadcast on national TV, NPR, CBC, and quite a few other media sources in this hemisphere. You are not guests on the Jerry Springer show, so please act like mature adults… if that is actually possible for any of you to do.

Did Not Want to Do This

I put this up last night at Jon’s insistence. I didn’t really want to do it but some Minnesota readers from Hancock and Halstad showed up on my site meter and I wanted to make some things clear so that I don’t have to re-password the site. Do me a favor and read it through, especially if you’re a first time surfer. As for the Minnesota people, I IP-banned them for the time being — I asked them to ID themselves and they didn’t. I don’t mind lurkers all that much, except when said lurkers do stupid things that affect me.

On The Road Again…

I went to Shelby this morning for a haircut and to drop off my paperwork with Shelby Public Schools. Well… turns out my hair appointment was earlier than I expected, so I just dropped stuff off at the school district office and went back home.

I called Chester to find out about fingerprinting and they told me to just go to the sheriff’s office and they could do it for me. Well… I drive 20+ miles there to find that the sheriff can’t accomodate me because there’s only one deputy who can do it and he’s out. So… I called Shelby to ask if they could do it in an hour (which is about how long it was going to take to get from Chester to Shelby) and they said yes. So… I truck 45 miles back to Shelby and a nice deputy fingerprints me. All in all, I think I drove 75 miles for 5 minutes of fingerprinting. I’ll have a parishioner take it over to the schools for me.

Tonight, Jon had a council meeting so I did some baking: gingerbread cats. I have kitty cookie cutters and I got this recipe oof of AllRecipes.Com. I only made half a batch and got 7 cats out of it — I think 2 batches should yield enough for Ke to decorate.

I also realized that I needed a life when I started drawing out plans for how I’d build a gingerbread house and decorate it — making everything from scratch. I never wanted to be Martha Stewart and I’m afraid that I’m turning into her!!!!!!!!!!! *runs screaming*

I’m headed out to get a TB test in a few minutes.

Good thing: it kills one of the hoops I have to jump through to substitute teach.
Bad thing: it involves sticking a needle in my arm and it hurts like H-E-double hockey sticks!

At least the fingerprinting on Friday won’t hurt as much…

Portsmouth Tea

I tend to not be all that much of a tea person (my husband Jon however is another story) but I do think that any tea company with a tea blog is REALLY cool. I checked out their tea selection and the teas I’d probably be ordering if it was my choice are the Masala Chai (I’m a fan of South Asian food and got hooked on chai after a friend who was a missionary in India made it for me) and the Apricot Peach Fruit tea.

Their teaware is also lovely.
