My Election Day Plans

Currently, I am doing what every proud American should be doing:

crocheting a purse and avoiding the media by watching “The Aristocats” with my 4 fuzzy children

I have no desire to watch the hype tonight over who won — I’m wanting it to be a (hopefully pleasant) surprise when I wake up tomorrow morning.

Update: My curiousity got the better of me so I’m watching to see how the South Dakota Senate race is doing. Daschle had better win, darn it!

Pumpkin Carving

I carved 6 of the 7 pumpkins from the garden today. (The 7th was drawn on with a Sharpie pen.) I made 4 “cat-o-lanterns”, 1 with crosses, and 1 with a kitty silhouette cut out of it. (Pictures will be posted tomorrow night.) While I was doing this, I had some “help”.

Edda inspecting the pumpkins
Edda making sure that the pumpkins are acceptable to carve.

Freya choosing her pumpkin
Freya picking her pumpkin before it was washed.

Freya annexing the pumpkin pen
Freya deciding that she would conquer the pumpkin pen for her own territory.

Edda inspecting the washed pumpkins
Edda making sure the pumpkins were clean.

I'll pick this one!
Edda choosing her pumpkin and making sure I had the necessary tools to carve it.

Ick

One of my mom’s kittens is lost (didn’t come in last night) and we’re currently under flood warning with several streets underwater.

This is gonna be a fun day….
