My Day Thus Far

This morning, I wasn’t feeling up to dealing with people socially so I trekked through the fog and mud to BIG LUTHERAN CHURCH IN TOWN. It was an OK service with a pretty nice sermon. Afterwards, Krissy and I talked and I think she and I might have licked the problem with getting Meditatio back up — now to have my hosting company do their part!

I had a lovely nap after Wait Wait — Don’t Tell Me and am now pondering whether to go to an event tonight with some people from church who are of a more evangelical persuasion. (In other words, they’re pretty much Baptist/Pentecostal types who have determined that they need to stay at Church #2.) I guess the speaker has the gift of prophecy and there are a bunch of people with the gift of healing? Not sure if that’s what I need but I’m not complaining.

Freya has decided that she is my office cat. She spent yesterday curled up with me on her “alternate altar” (also known as the camping chair next to the computer chair) and she hopped up there when I sat down at my laptop this afternoon. Such a lovely little demon!

Walking My Panther

Edda has been climbing windows and jumping off of surfaces in the secretary’s office so I decided to see how she would tolerate being out on her cat leash. What was originally going to be a walk around the yard turned into a walk all over town as she and I went visiting people. 🙂 She was very well-behaved and loved it when I’d let her down to explore. She tolerated the dogs she met very well and she was patient until we were about two blocks from home.

I forgot however that she would probably overheat so I’m going to keep an eye on her tonight and make sure she’s eating and drinking water.

Such Beasts!

[+] This afternoon, I set my tomato soup and pita/hummus down on my desk and closed the door to my study because I thought it was cat-free. When I came back downstairs and opened the door, I saw a little black cat licking the hummus off of my pita. I tossed the pita (not a fan of consuming cat spit) and just had the soup. Edda came and snuggled with me half an hour later… and she still had garlic breath. Ick!

[+] Said a few minutes ago: “Freya, stop eating my phone jack!!!!” The little demon was chewing on my DSL jack.

Currently, the demonic one is sitting in cat-loaf position before Jon’s nail cross. Could she be undergoing exorcism?

Saturday Randomness

Edda has decided to train Jon to clean the litterboxes. This morning, she went up to him, turned around, and peed on him. I managed to aim her so that she only got the comforter. I’m referring to Jon as her “paon” now…

I watched “Napoleon Dynamite” last night and today. It is very very strange.

Will watch “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” before heading to a wedding this afternoon…

My Cats’ Response To Me

Since I’ve come home from the hospital, my cats have acted strangely toward me. Part of it is the “Where have you been?!?!?!?!?!? You abandoned us!!!!!” act and the other part is the fact that I smell funny. (I smell like the hospital.)

Edda has been happy to see me. My little panther missed me and the only problem I’ve had with her is negotiating where she’s allowed to put her paws when she climbs on top of me. (She tends to gravitate toward my sutures. OWWWW!!!!!) Freya has been inspecting me with her little pink nose and she has consented to being petted when we’ve both been on the bed. Finian doesn’t know what to do with me and Cullen was terrified of me when I first came home. Since we’ve established that I’m the one who pets him and scratches all his itchy tabby places, he’s started tolerating me again.

Cullen the Cat

There is a boldly striped tabby cat sitting next to me and purring so hard that he is vibrating the floor under both of our chairs. Can life get any better?
