1. How do you balance candidates when you vote? When you have a pro-lifer who kills life by his ecological policies, how does he compare Kyoto kissing pro-choicer who thinks abortions should be available to anyone at any time of the pregnancy? (That’s a really qualified question, so read it literally :-P)

I vote for the one who is the least evil in my humble opinon. (Gee… could this be a Dubya vs. most of his Democratic opponents question? Nooooooo…) Seriously, I’ve voted for the lesser of two evils in the last two elections and the more evil one has always won. (Send all hatemail to jeniswrong at peacefulwaters dot org please.)

2. How would you argue for the ordination with a moderate conservative or Anglo-Catholic who allows women in non-priestly roles or as acolytes, but can’t go for women’s ordination because of exegetical hangups (Creation account, Timothy, Corinthians)?.

I still haven’t gotten that argument down well yet so I can’t tell you how I’d argue. Most of my friends who disagree with my ordination pray for discernment for me, hoping that somehow I’ll discern that the path is wrong.

3. How do you veg at home?

I crochet, pet my cats, watch “Law & Order”, do taebo, and work in my garden when it isn’t too cold. I also love to cook but don’t really have all that many people to cook for.

4. An anti-cat speech (with people burning cats in public) is going on at the same time as a Marva Dawn lecture called, “Making the Jump From Pastor’s Wife to Pastor.” They’re across town from each other. What do you do?

The anti-cat speech. Protesting cruelty to animals trumps Marva Dawn. (I’m also not incredibly fond of her anyway.)

5. You’ve won a free trip. You can go to Strassbourg, Wittenberg, Worms, and Geneva, or you could go to Hawaii, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. Which do you choose?

Hard question. I can either go galavant around Europe or go snorkelling and get sunburned. I’d probably go with the Hawaii, Jamaica, and the Bahamas since I might do the first trip as a sabbatical someday. Besides, the latter trip would be a break from church things which would be good for me.

If anyone wants me to ask them questions, leave me comments. If anyone wants to ask me questions, comment as well.

Life

Started therapy again.

Am sitting here on pins and needles waiting to find out if my tax loan will be approved. Stupid accountant error.

Am fighting off sinus issues.

Not posting much due to life suddenly being busy and me being sick.

The Good, The Bad, and The Furry

The Good
-Our stay in the Cities from Sunday night to Tuesday night was wonderful.
-The Ministerial Health Assessment was very painless and actually really affirming.
-I got sushi for dinner on Monday night.
-I walked miles and miles around the U of M campus.
-I got to binge on $tarbucks.

The Bad
-I got pulled over by the Highway Patrol outside of Hutchinson for being all over the road. (Thankfully, the cop believed that I was just really tired and dizzy from low blood sugar and let me off without a ticket provided I let Jon drive the rest of the way.)
-Some church pain got dumped in our lap minutes after finishing the ministerial health stuff.
-I have WICKED hayfever that’s causing me to be headachy, congested, and nauseous.
-We’re having to borrow to cover our taxes and I have to get all the paperwork done tonight.

The Furry
-My panther has been a love since we got back. She’s beating me with her (very long) tail, putting her paws on my lap, and snuggling with me whenever I’m curled up in a ball in bed.
-Loki came by today and is looking OK.

JP II

The Pope died an hour ago.

Lift up prayers for the Roman Catholic Church and for any practicing Catholics you know. This will be a hard time for them.

A New Addition to the Family

Jon and I have decided that we want to get a puppy. I know this is totally going to shock most of you who know I’m a cat person, but I really love Jack Russell terriers and there’s a parishioner who raises them.

We’re going to call him Eddie and we’re going to pick him up from them next weekend.

The kitties will have someone new to play with!
