Sleep Isn’t An Option…

The call of nature woke me up this morning at 6:30 (though my alarm wasn’t gonna go off until 8:30) and after answering it, I couldn’t get back to sleep. I decided to do the thing that I knew would work: have a glass of Instant Breakfast. Small problem: when I brought it back to the bedroom, I accidentally knocked it over with my covers and it went flying. I screamed for Jon and he came and helped me rescue my library books and a couple other ones that had gotten hit. I spent the next hour cleaning it up, stripping my bed, and trying to keep the cats away from the mess (since they wanted to “help”). I tossed some Resolve on the carpet and that seems to have worked for the most part. I think we’ll have to borrow a carpet cleaner this weekend, which is cool because we need to steam clean the carpets anyway.

My alarm goes off in 30 minutes so that I can shower before going to a doctor’s appointment with Jon. Hopefully, I can get my sheets in the dryer and take a nap when I get back…

Uncle Tom

I called home this morning to tell my parents about the 4″ of snow we’d gotten and my dad told me that Uncle Tom had died a few hours earlier. He’d been sick for a while though the doctors had given him another 5 years or so…

Here’s a picture of him at my wedding with Jon and I:

Silly Insurance Companies

I went to see my P.A. yesterday and (politely) demanded drugs. He gave me 5 days of Zithromax (stomach upset — oh joy!!!!) which is standard for the lung/sinus crud that I get.

My insurance company decided to only allow me 4. This means that on Friday, I get to go back to the pharmacy and pay for a refill of… ONE PILL. My co-pay is more than the cost of the one pill. Methinks, I will just pay for the pill by itself.

Gotta love insurance companies!

Sick

After updating my weight loss blog, I felt like I’d been hit with a ton of bricks. I crawled into bed and hid under the covers while the fever set in and the chills started. Jon and I made the decision that I was going to be on bedrest for the next couple days because it looks like I’ve caught the cold virus he had after Christmas. Knowing me, it would have to be a chest cold which is royally screwing with my asthma.

I slept badly last night so I skipped church this morning (also wanting to keep my elderly parishioners from getting it and having it turn into pneumonia for them). My cats (especially the MASSIVE tomcats I have) were very happy to have someone curled up in bed asleep. Cullen can’t get over the fact that he got petted and scratched and loved up this morning — he was purring more asthmatically than I was breathing!

Gonna go Clorox-wipe the phone and head back to bed now…

Rendering Unto Caesar

I’m starting to work on my taxes so that I don’t have a nasty surprise when we go in to see our accountant on March 23rd. (Gee… I get to go discuss my financial dealings on my wedding anniversary and find out how much of the War on Terror and the War in Iraq that the federal government wants me to finance. Can I be any luckier?!?!?!)

Hiatus

This site will be on a mini-hiatus while I switch hosts. Be patient — I’ll be back soon!

Everything is switched over. A big thank-you to Krissy for helping me get the MySQL stuff worked out and answering all my whiny questions. Chica, you are the bestest web diva there is!!!!
