I’ve been telling people around here about my Christmas card list and how I have designations for who gets Christmas cards, who gets peace cards, and who gets either one.Â? Some have raised concern about me being part of the War Against Christmas and I guess I should learn to express my opinion a little more clearly such as the following.
THERE. IS. NO. WAR. AGAINST. CHRISTMAS!!!Â? HAPPY. HOLIDAYS. REFERS. TO. THE. FACT. THAT. NOT. EVERYONE. AND. THEIR. MOTHER. CELEBRATES. CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
I mean, seriously, I don’t celebrate Hannukah so it would be a little inappropriate of my Jewish friends to send me Hannukah cards and ditto for my pagan friends sending me cards regarding Yule as I don’t celebrate that either.Â? So… I don’t send Christmas cards to my friends who actively practice another faith because December 25th is just another day to them.
And for the record, the Christmas cards I *do* send out are religious ones.Â? I celebrate Christmas and I’m into Jesus being “the reason for the season” and all that.Â? I just choose to respect that not everyone celebrates the same things that I do.
Well, there’s your mistake! You’re not supposed to have non-Christian friends in the first place!
(Please don’t beat me. I really am joking.)
If only the mass population would realize this.
OMG THANK YOU!
I even go so far as to have non-religious Christmas cards because I don’t expect everyone to celebrate the holiday in the same way I do. If someone isn’t religious and is into it as a family, secular holiday, I don’t see that as my business. When people tell me “Merry Christmas” whom I don’t know, I actually feel a little insulted. Like, how do they know what I have?
