The New Pope (I)

My worst fears are confirmed. Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger is the new Pope: Benedict XVI.

My prayers are with the Roman Catholic Church because this guy is the worst candidate that could have been chosen.

About Jen

Jen isn't quite sure when she lost her mind, but it is probably documented here on Meditatio. She blogs because the world needs her snark at all hours of the night... and she probably can't sleep anyway.

  1. I don’t agree either. He took the job under JPII as defender of the faith (formerly the inquisition office) and did what the office required. He is a fine theologian and preacher. Pray that the Holy Spirit guide him and the church during his time as Pope.

He is the one person in Rome very familiar with the abuse in the American and European churches. He knows the depth of the problem and may be the only one who can now address it properly. His perspective will be his flock and not protecting the priesthood.

Read some of his writings I think you will be extremely impressed. Also read some of JPIIs on the Theology of the Body. I think you will be very moved, as a woman who has experienced abuse, by his thinking. It is very healing to one’s soul.

    Hugs,
    Ellana
