Room at this Inn

There’s a stray cat that has been coming around on and off this fall. I think it might be the kitten that stalked me in July that’s grown up. Anyway, we pondered the thought of finding a home for him in November but we didn’t get to before we left for Washington and he stopped coming by.

Today as we were preparing to leave for Watertown to do errands, he appeared at the door. Jon brought him food and water, but he was shivering as he ate and we didn’t feel right about leaving him outside, so we put him in the basement with a litterbox and some food and water. When we got home, I gave him a sponge bath and got some of the grime off of him. I think we’ll have to give him a full-on bath tomorrow — he’s just so filthy. He is a complete love though — EVERY time one of us goes down there, he loves us up and mews at us for attention. We’d bring him upstairs with the others (or at least let Edda go downstairs and keep him company because she is a love as well) but…
a.) he might have some kitty diseases that ours aren’t vaccinated against
b.) the other 4 are not amused with us for having him down there in the first place
c.) we can’t keep him

Hopefully, we’ll find him a home — either his real one or with someone who needs a kitty…
