Community

I was replying to an entry on one of Laura’s journals when it hit me that one of the things I really miss about Columbus is having community around me. The dorms and the apartments at the seminary breed their own communities and the apartments are kind of like a compound in itself — we had BBQ’s in the summer and we’d babysit for each other during the year.

I have to admit that I hated the apartment I lived in — white cinderblock walls, no kitchen space, a gross bathroom, inadequate closet space, and no ventilation. I did, however, love that we always had people to help us move (it’s what you do during the summers in seminary) and there were always people to meet for coffee. I guess that’s what I’ve missed most of all.

I hope that we actually do end up in either an apartment complex or at least a close knit place when we get to Billings. I mean, I’d really love to have people with whom I can have coffee and share life who are my age and in my position…

About Jen

Jen isn't quite sure when she lost her mind, but it is probably documented here on Meditatio. She blogs because the world needs her snark at all hours of the night... and she probably can't sleep anyway.
