(Idea taken from Rachel)
Ash Wednesday is in a week so I’m starting to think about my Lenten fasts.Â? (Could someone also remind me to make pancakes on Tuesday so that I can bond with my Anglican side?)
What I’m giving up
I have no clue at this point.Â? Probably soda since that *will* be an interesting fast for me as a Coke addict.
What I’m taking on
I’ll be working through a devotional book that my mother-in-law gave me and I’ll also be doing two squares a day for afghans for Afghans.Â? I need to cut my yarn stash down and it will be a good way to do so.Â? I can also start breaking apart the yarn stash that Krissy sent me.Â? 🙂
I’ve been thinking about the same things. I’m going to do what I usually do for Lent, which is give up Diet Coke. (Yes, I do it every year, and usually by about Mother’s Day, I’m back to it again – shut up!)
I haven’t thought about what I’ll take on . . . but I still have a week to go for that. I’m kind of an oddity at my church – since we’re Baptist, most of them don’t mark Lent much at all. But I have for decades.
I’m thinking I’ll do french toast and sausages for Tuesday night dinner. And even though our potluck isn’t until Wednesday night, I may do a king cake as well – except without the baby or citron.
Good luck with your Lenten disciplines.
Let’s try to remind each other about pancakes!
hmmm – tough one. lay down all crusty foods, maybe? 🙂
