Can’t Sleep. World Leaders Are Acting Badly.

Let me just say that the situation between Israel and Lebanon is making me sick.Â? S-I-C-K.Â? The Israeli offensive is akin to solving a playgroud fight with an AK-47.Â? It just bothers me that one country can be allowed to completely annihilate the infrastructure of another without people caring (OK… at least people caring in the USA — Lebanon to most here is probably “one of those darn Muslim countries”).

Does anybody else in the world freaking care?Â? I know the U.N. was talking about censuring Israel.Â? Why haven’t they done it?!?!?!?!?

About Jen

Jen isn't quite sure when she lost her mind, but it is probably documented here on Meditatio. She blogs because the world needs her snark at all hours of the night... and she probably can't sleep anyway.

  1. it makes me sick too. my friend from lebanon has been suck here in the states for over two months because he can’t go home. he runs a resource center to assist disabled people. when i first met him he was talking about how beautiful his country and city were. now everyone he knows back home have been moved to another part of the country… including the disabled. moved away from their beds.. their medicine… etc.

also at the global missions event we heard the struggles of several teenagers from palestine. that makes me sick too.

    *sigh*

  2. Unfortunately there’s not much the UN can do with the US vetoing everything.

  3. I mentioned on a friend’s blog last week that, having been raised Jewish, I was made acutely aware of all the wrongs done to the Jews over the past 2000 years. Sadly, I think now Israel in particular has gone Columbine. They wouldn’t care if the U.N. or anyone else censured them. There is, I think, a nationwide mindset of “Kill them before they kill us.”

I weep for the Lebanese, but also for Israel and Jerusalem. I have no idea how to turn Israel aside from its wounds and pain, but I feel we must or face the destruction of the world.
