Birthday Canteloupes

We returned from the ER tonight (I was in pain and needed some pyridium — extrapolate from there) to find a vase of flowers and a canteloupe in the dropbox by our door. There was also a card from our oldest parishioner (she’s 96 and still active and driving) saying “Belated birthday wishes to Pastor Jon and happy joy to you and Jenna.” I have to say… a birthday canteloupe and flowers is infinitely more creative than a birthday cake and probably better for us too. 🙂

About Jen

Jen isn't quite sure when she lost her mind, but it is probably documented here on Meditatio. She blogs because the world needs her snark at all hours of the night... and she probably can't sleep anyway.

  1. Jen, I know this is belated…but I am so sorry to hear of your car accident. I will pray for your needs there.

Oh, and a very happy belated birthday to you. A birthday cantaloupe is indeed creative!

does anyone else ever call them musk melons? we always did when i was a kid but I don’t know if that was just a family thing or not.
