If you voted for #ClasslessBuffoon (and I really don’t give a shit why you made that reprehensible choice — it was WRONG and you knew it when you cast that ballot), go read something else today because this post isn’t for you. (If you’re the Catholic blogger from Akron, Ohio who routinely visits this site against my wishes and trolls me, go away or I’ll email your priest and tell him about your cyberbullying habit.)

Are all the Trumpkins gone? Good.
So the odds have been defied and we have a failed businessman and frat boy as our president for the last four years. We’ve had sucky presidents in the past. (this is an unashamedly Democratic blog so we’re talking about Bush Jr.) and we’ve been uninvited from all the cool kid parties like the U.N. Security Council as a result. Guess what? We survived those horrible eight years. Our economy tanked as a result of Bush Jr. but eight years of Obama turned that around.
However, we’ve got some dark days ahead. President Obama has promised a peaceful transition from now until January and we’ve got to pull up our socks and figure out what to do after he leaves office and the classless buffoon takes over.
Here are a couple things that we need to do:
[+] Stand up for those who are in danger. I’m talking about immigrants (all of them including those who are here legally), GLBTQ folks, women, Muslims, people of color, Native Americans, those with disabilities, and anyone else who are going to be hurt by the incoming regime. *SPEAK UP* when there’s a police shooting, offer to accompany people who are scared to leave the house right now because of all the hate crimes being perpetrated by #ClasslessBuffoon’s thuglike supporters, wear a safety pin on your outer garments, or whatever you can do to help people know that they aren’t alone and that racist old jerks aren’t the face of America.
[+] Exercise your freedom to petition. Sign every freaking petition on MoveOn.Org, Change.Org, or any petition site out there that has one that is applicable for this issue. Bug the crap out of your elected officials. Your Congresscritters and senators were elected by you to represent you in Washington DC. This means that they need to listen to what you have to say and act according to your interests, so enlighten them as to what your interests actually are. Their websites have all their contact information. For those who need the URL, it is usually http://[last name].house.gov or http://[last name].senate.gov. Make them earn those salaries that they keep voting to raise! My thought is that if their staff doesn’t know you by name, you’re probably not bugging them enough. 🙂 Do be nice to their staffers, however, as many of them are college students doing internships and don’t deserve to be treated like lightning rods for your frustration. Save that for your candidate’s appearances in your home district.
[+] Peacefully protest when it is appropriate to do so. I’m standing completely in solidarity with those who are protesting #ClasslessBuffoon’s election peacefully right now and biting my thumb at @$$holes who are screwing it up for everyone by starting fires, damaging property, and engaging in thuggery. A large enough group of people assembling peacefully attracts positive media attention unless it’s the March for Life. (That’s y’all’s fault for being so ninja-like with your marching habits).
[+] VOTE. I know that the electoral college *MIGHT* be partially to blame but those in the country who claimed that their vote didn’t matter are eating some serious crow after Tuesday night. There were 90 million eligible voters who did not cast a ballot. Another scary statistic: Another statistic: #ClasslessBuffoon was elected by slightly over a quarter of eligible voters. That’s shameful.
I don’t care if you’re rocking the slut vote, feeling the “Bern”, or getting people registered to vote some other way. Just get out there and do it!
Now let’s go take our country back from the idiots who voted to ruin it!
