The extra button on my Lands’ End cords broke and I called them to ask if they could send me a new one as I hadn’t been able to find one that was the proper size or color. (It’s a dark brown button — you’d think they’d sell them in fabric stores!) When the mail came today, there was an envelope from them with a plastic baggie full of dark brown buttons!

Haha that’s awesome!! And in re: the election…YAY for Obama and for Illinois going overwhelmingly for Kerry (even if GA is STUPID beyond all reason…but we knew that already…)
Also, one other good thing: regardless of who won the election, nasty stuff is going to happen–the economy is iffy and, oh yeah, there’s this big messy war we have to somehow get out of; my polisci teacher called this election a “poisoned apple”, because it’s going to come with a lot of blame attached. If Kerry were elected, he would get the blame for all this even though it’s technically Bush’s fault. But since Bush and the Republicans are very VERY in power, all the blame will fall squarely on their shoulders, and there will probably (HOPEFULLY) be a political backlash against them. I mean, if they control the presidency, the House, and the Senate, there’s no way they can say it’s the Democrats’ fault. EVERYTHING will be their fault.
All that to say it still isn’t good that they’re in control, but hey, gotta find the silver lining.
