Who Am I?

Ever since I read this, I’ve had the following song in my head:

Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wondering heart.

Not because of who I am.
But because of what you’ve done.
Not because of what I’ve done.
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow.
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I’m calling,
Lord you catch me when I’m falling,
And you told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again
Who am I?
That the voice that calm the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am.
But because what of youve done.
Not because of what I’ve done.
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow.
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I’m calling,
Lord you catch me when I’m falling,
And you told me who I am.
I am yours.

Not because of who I am.
But because of what you’ve done.
Not because of what I’ve done.
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow.
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I’m calling,
Lord you catch me when I’m falling,
You told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?
‘Cuz I am yours.
I am yours.

Casting Crowns

I remember hearing this song on Praise FM when I was in Minnesota and liking it.Â? Then someone sang it in church a few months ago.Â? It’s a good reminder when I’m going through as much junk as I am right now that I am a beloved child of God.

Passing

I just got the news from one of her parishioners that my friend Amy passed away.

Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant, Amy. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive her into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.

Pray for her family, especially her daughter who is now without a mother and just starting her teenage years.
