So… I just finally got to watch the all-around in the women’s competition and my homegirls Nastia and Shawn made me proud.Â? My homeboys on the men’s team overcoming all the naysayers and getting the bronze made me happy too.
Then… I get off TIVO and the IM relay is on live and I see Michael Phelps get his 8th gold medal.Â? That boy is goooooooood.
The leadership of my country might suck but my athletes are making me proud to be American today.
Last Sunday, Pisco Sours ran a sort-of 5K race.Â? Go tell him how hot he looks.Â? 😛
[+] Hyde Park Baptist Church: you guys suck! I can assure you that the Muslims would have been a heck of a lot more hospitable than you if it was their worship space in question.
[+] We’re not going to mention this weekend in college football other than to say that the teams with blue and gold colors did not do well. (And message to Dawn and Greta: there’s more than one team out there with those colors that I root for.)

[+] Great Falls has 4-6 inches of snow. The Hi-Line has…. NONE!!!! Mother Nature really doesn’t want me to burn my trash, does she?
[+] To the morons on US-2: there is a simple rule regarding your high beams which involves TURNING THE BLOODY THINGS OFF IF YOU ARE APPROACHING SOMEONE OR BEHIND SOMEONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Â? Why is this rule so hard to follow???
[=] The Buckeyes went down in FLAMES this past weekend.Â? I could not be happier. 😛 (Yes, I know that Michigan lost to Wisconsin.Â? The point is… OHIO STATE LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
[=] I am infinitely glad that Amy finally got kicked off of “The Biggest Loser”.Â? That girl was nasty — backstabbed pretty much everyone and then whined about being backstabbed when Isabeau voted her off.Â? I mean, she got Lezlye voted off even though she told her about forming an alliance to keep her, she turned her back on her team, she spited her trainer, and she was just unpleasant.Â? I don’t think I’ve disliked a player so much since Lisa in season 1.
[=] Edda has started sleeping on my laptop bag.Â? I can’t seem to explain to her that she’s not that kind of laptop.Â? The little love also comes and snuggles me in the morning before I have to get up for work.
Bad Michigan!Â? Bad!Â? App State should have been a joke instead of a rival!!!
The only one of MY teams to win this week was the University of Washington. Go Huskies!Â? (They kicked the crap out of Syracuse.)
OK… skipping the postgame show. This is my rundown.
The Good
–the Cirque de Soleil performers during the pre-game.
-the moment of silence for the tornado victims
-Billy Joel doing the National Anthem tastefully
-Marlee Matlin doing the National Anthem in ASL
-the touchdown scored off the kickoff
-Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith hugging at the end of the game (good sportsmanship)
The Bad
-the commercials were interrupted by obnoxious interludes of football
-the rain on the field made it harder to play
-having to discipline the panther for scratching at the carpet (she’s now soaking wet from the “ENFORCEMENT” bottle as she was a repeat offender)
