I’m heading to Seattle for a week and a half on Tuesday and I wanted to know if anyone wanted to guestblog for me while I’m gone. I had people do this in May and it was great. If you’re interested, contact me using the link on the left leave me a comment.

Wardrobe Malfunction
The extra button on my Lands’ End cords broke and I called them to ask if they could send me a new one as I hadn’t been able to find one that was the proper size or color. (It’s a dark brown button — you’d think they’d sell them in fabric stores!) When the mail came today, there was an envelope from them with a plastic baggie full of dark brown buttons!
Reason #5890789 why I love Lands’ End…
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
We’re going to do this out of order here.
The Bad
+Bush won.
+Bush won.
+Bush won.
+Bush won.
+Bush won.
+Bush won.
+Tom Daschle was defeated by an idiot who doesn’t give a rat’s butt about his state (i.e. has done nothing to get drought relief for South Dakota)
The Good
+Barak Obama unseated Alan Keyes.
+My state went for Kerry.
+My county went for Kerry (i.e. we did our part)
+Those stupid political ads are over.
+Ohio was a close one — pretty bad for a state that Bush used to visit monthly before the election.
+My supercool Congressman got re-elected.
+It wasn’t a landslide victory for Bush
The Ugly
+The attacks ads — I saw some of the worse ones because Minnesota is apparently a swing state. (The logic behind that please?)
+The state of our country in 4 years
Pretty Pink and Blue Thoughts
I will not take my Klonopin and put myself in a world where everything is airy and life is pretty. I will not take my Klonopin and pretend that Bush hasn’t (likely) won. I will not take my Klonopin and go back to sleep, hoping to wake up and find out that Kerry has won. I will not take my Klonopin and avoid this hellish day on which our idiot president was re-elected. I will not take my Klonopin and pretend that there aren’t people stupid enough to vote for Bush.
Bush’s Faith
God, please help me to love your people, even when I think they’re being stupid…
My impression of Bush’s faith is that it is a whitewashed tomb. He quotes Scripture and hymn lyrics in his speeches (or attempts to make witty allusions to them and ends up confusing all those who are not well-versed in either) but I have yet to see his actions actually measure up. Yes… he’s pro-life. He also isn’t doing squat for the children that weren’t aborted but are living in poverty. “No Child Left Behind” is the biggest joke in the educational community because the funding isn’t there to make it work. If Bush claims to be such a strong Christian, doesn’t he know that faith without works is dead (i.e. he needs to put his money where his big fat mouth is)?
My Election Day Plans
Currently, I am doing what every proud American should be doing:
crocheting a purse and avoiding the media by watching “The Aristocats” with my 4 fuzzy children
I have no desire to watch the hype tonight over who won — I’m wanting it to be a (hopefully pleasant) surprise when I wake up tomorrow morning.
Update: My curiousity got the better of me so I’m watching to see how the South Dakota Senate race is doing. Daschle had better win, darn it!
Expected Entry for Today
VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Yes, that’s my freckled forehead…)
