Blogathon 2006

OK… the plan to blog for NPF fell through (though I did send them a donation as a conciliatory gesture) so the plan now is to blog for Lutheran World Relief if I get their blessing. My schtick will be Lutheran Alphabytes so I’m starting to collect Lutheran topic ideas that start with each letter of the alphabet. (If you have any, by all means leave them in the comments.)

Sign-ups start on July 1st and I’ll let y’all know when I can start accepting pledges.

Now to be a good Jen and get the translations done for them…

Crocs: The Ugliest Comfy Shoes on the Planet

Heather of Dooce has taken her husband’s Crocs away.Â? Her husband has countered on this website.Â? (This begs the question of whether husbands and wives should have separate blogs.Â? But anyway…)

The first time I saw those hideous things was when I came to Montana to interview.Â? I swore up and down that I would NEVER wear such hideous shoes.Â? Six months later… I bought my first pair and I have to say that they are the shoes I grab when I’m running out of the house to do errands.Â? My running shoes are comfy but Crocs make you feel like you’re going barefoot.

I agree — they are butt ugly shoes.Â? On the other hand, I haven’t gotten blisters from them or had my feet literally aching after a day at work.
