Jon’s youth pastor gig is going well but…
I still need gainful employment, preferably with benefits. Could y’all please lift up some prayers that I can find some? I’ve had interviews but none have come to fruition and it’s getting a bit discouraging.
I spent yesterday going through my boxes of belongings in my in-laws’ garage so today was the day to do “my Monday list”. My very wonderful mother-in-law graciously offered to take Daniel for the morning so I could get “my Monday list” worked on. So far, I have…
[+] Set up an online account with Southern California Edison so I can pay my bills online.
[+] Scheduled my rheumatology appointment and re-faxed the information to them. (I think their fax machine feeds into a paper shredder or something.) I also called to make sure they got the stuff.
[+] Called Milestones for Development to try and get an evaluation set up for Daniel.
[+] Called our doctor to get the referral that Milestones needs.
[+] Played butler to several of my in-laws’ cats.
[+] Gave the ermine-coated little girl her morning cream.
[+] Applied for jobs on Monster.Com, LaTimes.Com, and HotJobs.

An hour ago, I was lying on a lawn chair cat-napping by a neighbor’s pool in the 85 F heat. It was kind of nice to take a sun nap though I knew I had to be careful so that I didn’t completely roast myself. (I freckle and burn really easily.)
A few minutes ago, I saw an ad for L.L. Bean advertising some kind of jacket. It hit me then that I’m missing living in a place where such things are necessary.
Sigh… I’m missing my “four distinct seasons” again. I’m in California but my heart is stuck elsewhere.
I’ve been a little busy in the last week.
[+] My mother-in-law had a party for my 30th birthday a couple days early… and my parents surprised me by showing up. (Apparently, I was the only one who didn’t know they were going to be there.) It was a great surprise — it’s been a hard month thus far and I needed a few hours of mom time.
[+] I turned 30 on the 19th. Yes, I am no longer trustworthy.
[+] I have a potential job interview on Monday. (No word from the interviews two weeks ago.) Pray hard.
I had a really great interview for a job I wanted today. I need prayer to make it to the second round of interviews and to just rock that interview.

[+] Jobs for Jon and I.? We need the income desperately.
[+] Internet for 24 hours so I can do Blogathon in July.? We don’t have wi-fi at the Snuggery and I need to find a place where I can have Internet consistently from 6 a.m. on the 31st to 6 a.m. on the 1st for Blogathon.
[+] For relief from the severe gastritis and spastic colon that all the stress is causing.
[+] For my father-in-law as he’s dealing with his health challenges.
