Mouse Wars

I saw two cats sitting by the bathroom door this morning. Given that nobody was in there, I realized that it could only mean one thing: we had a mouse in there. I opened the door and saw the beast scurrying across the floor and slide into the crack where the wall has separated from the floor.

Well, crap!

I got some steel wool today and pulled it apart so Jon could stuff it into the crack. I’m hoping that it keeps the creatures out? Meanwhile, I guess a mouse got out and went into the master bedroom so the cats have been dispatched there to deal with it. I’m hoping they actually deal with it and don’t just play with it for the next 8 hours.

What I Got Done Today

I did some “geek-cleaning” as my m-i-l would say…

[+] Got my Blogathon site on hiatus. Comments are off and I’ll probably not be posting until next spring when I start prepping for the 2010 ‘thon.

[+] Took down the main page of Peacefulwaters.Org for updating. I need to revamp the domain and figure out what I want to do with it.

[+] Got stuff done on Farmtown and MyZoo. I’m stuck on level 13 on MyZoo and need visitors which is irritating me.

Prayers Needed

The call committee of [undisclosed location in Canada] votes today (August 6th). This is a congregation that is really open to discernment and the leadings of the Holy Spirit. For those who do, please pray that God’s will be done in terms of whether they call Jon or not. They are a seriously AMAZING group of people and we’d love it if they did call us but we want God’s will to be done in any case.

I Can Haz Groupies????

Jon had a call interview in an undisclosed location in Canada this weekend (undisclosed because he’s in the call process — the first rule of call process is that you do not discuss call process) and Daniel and I were invited to come up with him. (I’ll redux it tomorrow — it’s late and I need to go to bed so I can be a sweet person at work tomorrow.)

Anyway… I was sitting on a bench in the narthex and someone came up and introduced herself and told me that she really liked my blog.

*jaw drops to the floor*

Someone in that congregation reads my blog????? Oh dear Lord, let me not have said anything I should not have said lately!!!!!

I was really flattered and kind of speechless because I’m pretty secretive about this site (mostly because I have to be). Seriously, it was really nice and I’m kind of getting all “OMG-how-did-I-come-across?!?!?!?!?!?” about it.

So… shout-out to Yvonne!!! I’m glad I got to meet you. Now be a nice groupie and leave me a comment. 🙂
